A longtime writer and college English instructor, I have been teaching writing and literature courses online and in person for colleges and universities across the United States for over 25 years now. I have taught and know well the standard curriculum of most undergraduate English courses, namely developmental English, English composition, American and world literature, creative writing, and business writing.
Before entering into academia, I worked as a staff and freelance writer for various publications in the West, as well as a copy editor. I have a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Journalism.
My goals two main goals are 1) to help anyone wishing to strengthen their writing skills in American English realize that wish, and 2) to help entering college students succeed in their first-year writing courses. I created the College Writing Prep Program after years of witnessing too many freshmen drop or fail first-year English Composition for various reasons, including a secondary education that failed to prepare them with solid reading, critical thinking, and writing skills readying them for future college-level work. Because the use of AI to generic textual content is considered plagiarism by most higher ed institutions, learning to write and think critically are skills still very much relevant.
